Description
The Love & Sex Slogan Tee features a phrase taken from a piece of street graffiti near Okubo Station in Tokyo: “Love is the side effect of sex.” Unauthorized graffiti is relatively uncommon in Japan, while the Okubo area has long been home to people from a wide range of cultural and national backgrounds, giving its streets a more complex and diverse character than most parts of Tokyo.
UnDeR20 founder TenGuSan photographed the phrase while passing through the area. Written with the detached tone of a medical diagnosis, it frames love as a “side effect” caused by sex. The line is direct, dry, and darkly humorous, making it the central idea behind the design.
The graphic is built with a puff print base, giving the lettering a raised, dimensional surface, then finished with a layer of glitter. From a distance, it resembles pink neon; up close, the surface reveals a grainy texture reminiscent of sugar crystals and visual noise. The sweet color palette contrasts with the sharpness of the statement while preserving the rough, unpolished character of its street origin.

UnDeR20 Story
UnDeR20 was founded on January 23, 2021 by the artist, TenGuSan. Since its establishment, we have been dedicated to the design and release of original toys, which have been widely recognized across Asia, in particular, Japan and China. In 2023, we started our own clothing and accessories lines because we felt that we couldn't find clothes that truly excited us anymore. So we are going to create them ourselves.
From toys to streetwear, just like our name suggests, we have always been "under 20 years old." We uphold our slogan, "Wandering Soul, Untamed Heart." We gather artists from around the world and always stand with the "wildest" young people. A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having, right?
