Mountain Letter Jacket

Based on an early-20th-century Type denim jacket, this piece brings together envelope construction, an original photograph of Mount Fuji by TenGuSan, and the message that there is always another mountain beyond the one in view. With the pockets closed, the image appears across the front; opening the flaps reveals hidden text, like unfolding a letter sent from home.

The jacket has a short, boxy silhouette with relaxed shoulders and generous room through the body. Vertical seam lines and pleated workwear details frame two dimensional envelope pockets assembled from layered panels and secured with YKK snap buttons.

The body is cut from substantial 100% cotton moleskin in a French-workwear blue that develops natural tonal variation along folds and edges with wear and washing. Dark brown PU faux leather reinforces the collar, cuffs, and pocket details, while white-underbase DTG printing and concealed branding continue the letter motif inside the flaps.
